   Especially during an anti-theft spot check, packing groceries at today's self-checkout is rather time-consuming. As a result, the next customer is forced to wait unnecessarily long before the self-checkout in use becomes free again. The CPS system shortens this waiting time considerably by using a ‘product stop gate’.

2. 2

   If the new customer starts scanning groceries while the previous customer is still packing, the ‘product stop gate’ remains closed. This prevents the new customer's groceries from ending up among those of the previous customer. The ‘product stop gate’ only opens once the camera has established that the previous customer has finished packing.
